A Night Divided

A Night Divided by Jennifer Nielsen

Greta is a young girl living in Soviet controlled East Germany who wakes up one morning to find a ‘wall’ separating her from her brother and father who were visiting the West the day before. As Greta, her other brother and mother become threatened by the Statsi, Greta see’s her father through the break in the wall and uses his clues to plan an escape.

This story reveals the brutality of the Soviet government and the desperation of those who were imprisoned in the East when the wall was built.
